Quantum Flooring Expands Award-Winning Q-Range DUO with New Rake Back Stair Nosings

Following the success of its Q-Range DUO stair nosings, Quantum Flooring has expanded the range with three new rake back profiles — setting a new standard in safe and compliant stair edge solutions.

Launched in 2020, the original Q-Range DUO features three 55 x 55mm flat-fronted stair nosings designed to meet all relevant Building Regulations, BS8300-2:2018 standards, and the Equality Act guidelines. Recognised for innovation, the DUO range won a 2021 Flooring Innovation Award, and has since become a trusted specification choice across a variety of commercial projects.

Now, Quantum has introduced three new profiles that bring the same safety-led, compliant design to a wider range of flooring applications:

  • QRd-SR153R – Designed for use without any floorcovering, with a ramped back profile.

  • QRd-SR153 – Ideal for installations with vinyl or other resilient floorcoverings.

  • QRd-HR153 – Tailored for use with carpet and carpet tiles.

Each new rake back profile retains the key features of the original DUO range: a solid colour tread and riser for maximum visual contrast, 55 x 55mm dimensions for full compliance, and an all-over tread pattern to minimise slip risk. These enhancements ensure that DUO is now a solution for even more specification scenarios — without compromising on safety, compliance, or design.

Quantum’s continued investment in product innovation demonstrates its commitment to delivering flooring solutions that are practical, inclusive, and stylish. The expanded Q-Range DUO is yet another example of how the company meets the evolving needs of architects, contractors, and specifiers.
