The £261 million development at the Foresterhill Health Campus in Aberdeen brought together two major healthcare facilities: the Baird Family Hospital and the ANCHOR Centre. Across these buildings, over 24,000m² of floor coverings were installed, supporting a wide range of critical healthcare services including maternity, neonatal care, reproductive medicine, haematology, aseptic pharmacy, and specialist treatment facilities.

Challenge

Working with Veitchi Flooring Aberdeen and distributor HFD, Quantum products were selected to deliver durability, safety, and long-term performance across the project.

The chosen solution was Quantum’s QRD-SR153 Stair Nosing in Fawn, with 1,463 linear metres installed across 11 stair cores throughout the two buildings.

Solution

Early design discussions also addressed historic issues with damage to coved flooring elsewhere on the health campus. To help mitigate this, the project adopted Quantum ECF2 20mm Cove Former, pulling the flooring radius closer to the wall and providing a more robust finish. In total, over 21,000 linear metres were installed across the development.

A great example of collaboration between contractor, distributor and manufacturer to deliver a practical, long-lasting flooring solution in a demanding healthcare environment.
