PTV

PTV

The Pendulum Test Value (PTV) is determined through a test known as the pendulum test. In this test, a weighted pendulum with a rubber slider is swung across the surface being assessed. The rubber slider mimics the interaction between a shoe sole and the floor. The test measures the friction generated between the slider and the surface, providing a numerical value – the Pendulum Test Value. The results are typically expressed as PTV values, with higher values indicating better slip resistance. Any result above 36 is considered to be low slip risk or a 1 in 1million risk of a slip happening.  All Quantum Flooring tread materials (standard, PlusTread, Ecoglo) have been tested and have successfully achieved a 36+ result in both wet and dry testing, with Ecoglo achieving a result of 65+ in both wet and dry.
