Secured by Design (SBD): Enhancing Security Through Innovative Design
Secured by Design (SBD) stands as a pioneering initiative in the UK, driven by law enforcement, with a primary goal of crime reduction through thoughtful design. This national standard operates on the fundamental principles of ‘designing out crime,’ and all SBD-certified products undergo development in collaboration with the police and crime-prevention experts.
SBD-approved products and services are rigorously tested and certified to offer an elevated level of security against criminal activities, rendering them particularly suitable for residential use. Exclusive authorization is granted to manufacturers who meet the stringent criteria, ensuring that only SBD-approved products bear the mark of enhanced security and crime prevention.
