Construction Product Regulation (CPR), QPSL Products and CE Marking Explained
What is the Construction Product Regulation (CPR)?
The Construction Product Regulation (CPR) came into force on 1 July 2013. Under the CPR, any construction product that falls within the scope of a harmonised European Standard (HEN) must display CE marking before it can be placed on the market.
CE marking demonstrates that a product’s declared performance complies with the relevant harmonised standard and applicable regulatory requirements.
Do QPSL products require CE marking?
QPSL has consulted with the British Standards Institution (BSI) regarding the CE marking requirements for Dacatie Insulated Cavity Closers and Quantum Flooring Accessories.
BSI has confirmed that there are currently no mandatory harmonised European standards that apply to these products which would require CE marking to be undertaken. This is because the products are classified as components, rather than standalone construction products covered by a harmonised standard.
Furthermore, neither Dacatie Insulated Cavity Closers nor Quantum Flooring Accessories are listed within the current harmonised standard listings. As a result, CE marking is not applicable to these product categories at this time.
