Composite doors are created using different types of materials, usually with an insulated foam core, an aluminium skin, and a timber outer leaf. The inner workings give the doors enhanced thermal and security properties, as well as improving long-term performance, while maintaining the appearance of a timber door.<\/p>\n<p>An industry-leading manufacturer in the timber composite doors market encouraged QWood to develop a timber composite bolection mould, due to issues the company had with traditional timber profiles. The manufacturer had problems with bead movement, as its timber bolection moulds were warping from rain and extremes of temperature.<\/p>\n<p>QWood\u2019s composite bolection mould is manufactured using timber from well managed forests. This means that, while being easier to cut and paint, the profile retains the look and feel of timber. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/quantumprofilesystems.com\/qwood\/designproduct\/qw-dbm1-double-rebate-bolection-mould\/\">QWood bolection mould<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0also has the significant advantage of longevity. As it is a composite, it will not warp or rot, whatever the weather. The profile can be cut, painted and fitted straight from the box, ensuring smooth installation.<\/p>\n<p>After the success of this beautiful\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/quantumprofilesystems.com\/qwood\/designproduct\/qw-dbm1-double-rebate-bolection-mould\/\"><strong>bolection mould<\/strong><\/a>, QWood developed a timber composite door glazing bead to match it. However, with recent changes in door blank sizes, it made sense to design two more\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/quantumprofilesystems.com\/qwood\/door-profiles\/\"><strong>glazing beads<\/strong><\/a>. Doors are being manufactured to be thicker, in order to deliver better thermal values. The new beads are designed for 54mm and 58mm blanks, to fit onto these larger doors. These popular new beads mean that QWood profiles can now be used with the three most common blank size requirements.<\/p>\n<p>QWood has also developed a timber composite rain deflector. This has many benefits over the aluminium and timber profiles which have been traditionally used. The QWood\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/quantumprofilesystems.com\/qwood\/designproduct\/qwood-rd40-door-rain-deflector\/\"><strong>rain deflector<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is more cost-effective than expensive aluminium, while looking more attractive and natural on the door. Meanwhile, it is longer lasting and can be manufactured to smaller dimensions than the traditional timber variety.<\/p>\n<p>With all of these additions, QWood now has the perfect range of door profiles.
