About REACH
\nREACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is an EC Regulation that has direct effect in the UK.\u00a0 It came into force on 1st June 2007 and replaced a number of European Directives and Regulations with a single system for registering, evaluating, authorizing and restricting chemicals.
\nThe duties of relevance are summarised below:<\/p>\n
QPSL and REACH Enforcement Regulations 2008 About REACH\u00a0<\/strong>REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is an EC Regulation that has direct effect in the UK. It came into force on 1st June 2007 and replaced a number of European Directives and Regulations with a single system for registering, evaluating, authorizing and restricting chemicals. The duties of relevance are summarised below: In June this year (2013) the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) continued their expansion of the Candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), bringing the total to 144 substances. Please note that new substances are added to the REACH list every year. The full Candidate List can be viewed on the ECHA website at:\u00a0http:\/\/echa.europa.eu\/chem_data\/authorisation_process\/candidate_list_table_en.asp\u00a0<\/em>REACH registration duties\u00a0<\/strong>REACH requires companies that place \u201carticles\u201d on the market comply with certain duties, one of these is that any supplier of an article containing a substance meeting the criteria in Article 57 and identified in accordance with article 59(1) in a concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w\/w) shall provide the recipient of the article with sufficient information, available to the supplier, to allow safe use of the article including, as a minimum, the name of that substance. This duty is contained in article 33 of the REACH text.\u00a0QPSL Compliance\u00a0<\/strong>We can confirm that all Quantum Flooring extruded products:<\/p>\n \u2022 Do not contain any substances appearing on the Candidate list of the REACH Regulation<\/p>\n (2006\/1907\/EC) and as such are currently classed as REACH compliant.<\/p>\n \u2022 Use materials that comply with the RoHS Directive 2011\/65\/EC and the WEEE Recast Directive<\/p>\n 2012\/19\/EU.<\/p>\n \u2022 Do not contain any substances classed as Hazardous under the Dangerous Substance Directive<\/p>\n 1967\/548\/EC.<\/p>\n \u2022 Use materials that are classed as non-hazardous and therefore outside the scope of the Dangerous<\/p>\n Preparations Directive 1999\/45\/EC.<\/p>\n \u2022 Use materials that do contain a Phthalate substance as a Plasticiser.<\/p>\n For individual product information requests and further details please e-mail\u00a0technical@quantum-ps.co.uk\u00a0Quantum Profile Systems Ltd \/ January 2017<\/p>\n
